This ugly but adorable cat which belonged to the land lord’s girlfriend gave me hard time every time I was on the phone having a job interview or taking the directions and contact information of a certain company for interview purposes. She used to lay flat on my note book not giving me any space to write and while my hands were busy I used to push her gently away then have to concentrate on the phone call while she was climbing me. I laughed loudly once while being interviewed!
These photos were taken while I was in Dubai for the first time when my college friend took us from the hotel to Ibn Battoota. I was amazed by the construction taking place there.
Deserts were literally been turned into buildings. I was thinking of Iraq.

What an ugly CAT!!!!
funny, nice pics! I see your hand (I think) in one of the photos trying to push the cat away or something.
Dubai is a very beautiful city, and giant construction is going on. You are right, desert is literally can be noticed with such work
"The idea of being in the UAE is not to live but to ‘make a living’!"
So true, I think! This statement has two sides. For me I don't think I will be settling down in any country. I'm already 30 and not settled down in my own country for I expect every minute my house would be raided. I expect to be forced at anytime to flee with my smallest precious belongings if things got worse and a civil war started in neighborhoods.
So settling with a job in Dubai was to help myself and my Mom and Dad to live a normal life. So I have no clue whether that, if had happened, would have been living or making a living. I wouldn't have settled down in UAE permanently anyway and would have kept looking for imaginary place to settle in again. Might would applied for immigration to another country and return back to UAE with foreign passport to settle in.. LOLL long way!!! Tera milyousa!
You broached an amazing point regarding the elections and how the country contains 25% locals and 75% foreigners and how this served both sides. UAE locals in general consider those 75% as servants and those 75% are quite benefiting from the situation. Good deal.
"PS, when are you coming back to the UAE?"
Probably when UAE authorities start allowing Iraqi single women to enter the country. They fear that Iraqi women would pollute their Arabic traditions.
The Iraqi gypsy singers were given legal permissions by “ Wastas” from the Sheiks themselves. Ironic isn’t it?
Yes Chikitita , she was! But I got used to it as long as she was away from my bed and belongings. She was so funny too with her big ears. More over, she used to feel bored left alone the whole time so the landlord and his Gf decided to bring another small cat!! That was horribleeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Hi MixMax, it was my hand actually and I was sitting beside her with the other hand holding the cam. I was afraid she would jump at me when she sees the flash so I was getting ready.
